Balusters
Balusters are divided into two types: taper top where the turned portion of a baluster reduces to a dowel top, and square top where the baluster is center-turned leaving a square portion at the bottom and top. 1-1/4" balusters are used with 3" newels and appropriate handrails. 1-3/4" balusters are used with 3-1/2" newels and appropriate handrails. These are usually set on a 4" center to meet code. Balusters are available in paint grade, oak, maple, cherry, beech or any custom specie can be special ordered.
